Rabbi Shalom Hammer lives in Israel now over 30 years. He served under the Rabbinate Division of the Israel Defense Forces and currently serves as a senior lecturer for the Jewish Identity Branch of the IDF. In addition Rabbi Hammer is the founder and director of Makom Meshutaf, an organization which advocates tolerance and unity between religious and secular Jews in Israel through nondenominational educational programs.

Shalom has served as a contributing writer for the Jerusalem Post, is the author of five books and a sought-after lecturer for communities throughout the Diaspora.
